Bjørn works on utilities that are difficult to implement in APL, for example, communication over the internet, access to databases, cryptography and security.
During Bjørn’s education as a Civil Engineer, he took several introductory courses across diverse fields such as field theory, statistics, high power and process control. The last of these used APL – Bjørn’s first introduction to it – and he subsequently took a course on making an APL application that could help design transformers. He concentrated on courses in mathematics and numeric analysis, and his final project was concerned with evaluating different algorithms on a vector processer. During his education he also worked at a company implementing a CAD/CAM system, where he implemented algorithms for spline fitting and radius compensation. Shortly after completing his education, Bjørn joined Insight Systems. Here he started making utilities for APL in C and C++, and has continued this work since Insight Systems joined with Dyalog Ltd.
We promote a culture where innovation, fun, pride, and acceptance is part of our everyday life. We come from a variety of backgrounds, and we learn from each other’s diversity.
…or perhaps even join the team!
